Instant change of season
It’s June 8th, so naturally it’s time for a winter scene to remind us how good we’ve got it. This boardwalk, our mini version of the one in Victoria, led me to the showers and laundry facilities at the marina. The houseboat was my abode for a couple years, and very pleasant it was!
Snow is unusual here in the winter, and this last winter we didn’t get any at all! In 1968, before I arrived in the San Juans, I’m told they had over two feet of the cold variety of wet stuff. It never lasts long, so we never learn how to drive around in it. People in Alaska or the upper Midwest would laugh at our antics as we tussle with old man winter.
